Alumni · Leadership Award

Recognizing exceptional port leadership.

Presented to the Certified Port Executive™ alumnus who has demonstrated the most significant contribution to port leadership excellence in their region or sector.

About the Award

The CPE Leadership Award was established to recognize the practical impact of the credential — not just on individual careers, but on the ports and communities that alumni lead.

Recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by the Certified Port Executive Program in consultation with the program faculty. The award reflects operational achievement, industry contribution, and the CPE values of transparency, practitioner knowledge, and leadership by example.

Current recipient

The CPE Leadership Award is held by Adelena Chandler, Human Resources Director, Port St. Maarten Group — recognized for her work transforming the organization's leadership culture, operational standards, and regional influence across the Caribbean port sector.

“The credential gave me a framework. The award reminds me why the framework matters — not just for my career, but for every port professional who comes after.”

— Adelena Chandler, Human Resources Director, Port St. Maarten Group
